I sing because I'm happy...

"Fear not therefore; you are worth more than many sparrows..."

Fear is so insidious.  It can catch us at any time, any place.  Even in our own home!  How can we ever have hope then, in this kind of situation?  We can have hope in God...Krishna, Ram, Shiva, Jesus, Allah, by whatever name you know God.

It's one thing to pray fervently, have a furrowed brow because you are so concentrated on God...but it's another thing to fear things won't work out....or worry even though you're praying so hard...these are not signs of being faithful...I would say these could be signs of perhaps being attached to the act of worrying...so don't worry!  Let God be God, and let yourself rest in the security of God's shelter.  Let yourself be happy, fearless, and even ecstatic in the promises of God!

We can calm the restless mind with certain prescribed activities: yoga (especially slow yoga flows like Restorative, or Yoga Nidra), pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation.  It also helps to commune with nature as much as possible, perhaps sunbathing and simply enjoying the wind in your hair, or sitting in the park listening to the birds, etc.  These are activities that slow us down and help us to "return to the breath" as one of my favorite teachers loves to remind us.

I pray that all beings can be free from fear, worry, doubts, stresses, and anxieties.  Certain situations we have may seem difficult for us, but NOTHING is difficult for God...God will make a way out of no way...God IS the way!
